Nosgoth was founded in 1998 by Roman, Gregor, and Thomas in Graz, Austria. Two months later Jörg joined. After one whole year of composition and creating a true musical feel for what all the members were striving for, the four young musicians began looking for a qualified singer. At this point in time Thomas decided to go on studying outside of Austria and left the band, at which point Niko joined as the guitarist. After changing singers a couple of times, Nosgoth finally found a motivated and musically qualified singer, Kerstin Jantscher. Six months later, Szabolcs joined Nosgoth as the solo-guitarist. 160 nationally and internationally recognized bandsNosgoth won the 2nd place prize for their song „Care, Charmer Sleep.“ Shortly after this great success, Nosgoth produced their first Demo entitled „Nevermore Requiem“ with Kerstin on vocals. Rather suddenly, after such great musical success, Szabolcs left the band and was replaced by Klaus. Shortly thereafter, Kerstin left the band for personal reasons and in her place came the American mezzo-soprano Solmaaz Adeli who is featured in Nosgoth’s first album „Lines of Sorrow.“ Due to their career which led her to several other countries Solmaaz and Niko had to quit Nosgoth in 2007. That way the soprano Isabella and the guitarist Alex became members of Nosgoth. |
