As the son of the internationally renowned operasinger Natela Nicoli, Niko became immersed in classical music from an early age. He began his musical carrier by studying the Piano and later on took up Cello and French Horn. After studying classically for many years, he became interested in the guitar and began private studies at the Johann-Joseph-Fux Conservatory in Graz. Up to then he had studied only classically, but after taking up the guitar he was able to blend his classically trained techniques into a more modern, heavy guitar sound. Niko came upon Nosgoth in 1999 and joined as their rhythm guitarist, where he was able to convey his deepest and most melancholic emotions through the music. In the year 2007 he moved to London permanently and therefor left the band.
